Who We Are
Cima1915
The proverbial reliability of Cima1915 electric motors and the innovative Deigma system offer clients a solid response to the increasing demand for safety and respect of the environment.
The “Compagnia Italiana Magneti Americani” (CIMA) was founded in 1915 and it was taken over by Giovanni POMATI and one of his “comrade-in-arms” at the end of the Great War in 1922. The aim of the company was the maintenance and the manufacture of the ignition magnets and of the electric installation of cars and lorries which were used for the American expedition in Europe during the First World War.
The seat was located in Casa Tanzi (Tanzi’s Home) in Largo Donegani in Milan. The name was changed into “Compagnia Italiana Magneti Accessori” (CIMA). Immediately after the Great War, there was a particularly favourable moment for the car industry. Therefore the company, which had been known for the maintenance of its products, obtained the Italian representation of two of the greatest American manufacturers of magnets and electric installation: American – Bosch and Eiseman. Afterwards CIMA was chosen also by the English “LUCAS” one of the greatest factories, all over the world in that sector, at that time.
Over its history, Cima1915 has gained a position of absolute prestige in the supply of electric motors for these indispensable devices. Testimony to this success is the fact that today more than 500,000 vessels are equipped with Cima1915. These motors earned their fame by virtue of their acclaimed durability and reliability. In a leisure craft market showing reassuring signs of recovery, Cima1915 represents a solid reference partner for safety equipment.
